Far Infrared Sauna

With Grounding Mat

We are excited to have a far infrared sauna as an option for treatment. Utilizing the sauna before or after your sessions will dramatically enhance the benefits of our work together. The infrared light, in combination with the heat, warms muscles and tendons and encourages lengthening of the fibers.

The grounding mat included in the session has been shown to neutralize free radicals and decrease blood viscosity, positively affecting circulation.

We house one of the best Far Infrared Saunas on the market boasting the best materials, technology, and low EMFs. Recognize those mountains out the window in the picture to the right? It was designed by High Tech Health right here in Boulder, CO!

Far Infrared Saunas have been scientifically measured to:

Far Infrared Saunas can be utilized daily for maximum benefit, and 2-3x/week is recommended for detoxification.

The Session:

The Setting: Our Far Infrared Sauna is located in a private bathroom that hosts a shower, sink, and toilet.

Before: Drink a glass of water before entering the sauna and sip water during the entire session.

You can induce more sweating if you take a warm shower before getting in, as well as if you drink hot liquids, exercise, or dry brush. If you’re new to sauna therapy though, start slowly! It’s not a race. Your body needs to build tolerance to the heat and to the detox effects, just like it does to exercise. You can get all the benefits of the infrared light from a 100 degree sauna session. A higher temperature just encourages more detoxification through increased perspiration.

During: Get in the sauna before it reaches the max temperature to allow your body temperature to rise more gradually as it heats up. We recommend 20-30 minutes in the sauna (including pre-heating time). Your session allows plenty of time to rinse off before heading back out into the world.

You are welcome to bring music for use inside the sauna. Connect to the included JVC stereo via USB or auxillary cord. (Not provided.) Or simple enjoy the silence.

Be sure to run the fan about every 5 minutes for about 30 seconds to vent out the CO2 you’re exhaling. You’ll notice the temperature drop about 5 degrees but once you turn the fan off, it will rise back up. Temperature fluctuations are normal in sauna sessions.

We provide hand towels to sit on during your sauna session, as well as cold washcloths for a quick cool down afterward.

The benefits of far infrared technology come from skin exposure to the light, so it’s best to wear nothing at all while in the sauna. (Again, please sit on one of the provided hand towels, for sanitary purposes.)

After: Please bring your own large towel and toiletries for the use of the shower.

We also recommend taking appropriate supplements (like calcium, magnesium, and potassium) to compensate for minerals lost during the sweating portion of sauna therapy.
